ONE of Ireland’s largest online shopping sites for curtains – 365Curtains.com – has just been launched by The Spinning Wheel – one of the longest-established businesses in Donegall Square, that’s been a stalwart for fabrics and curtains in Belfast for almost 40 years.

Due to the demand from customers in Ireland and in mainland UK, the Spinning Wheel has just invested over £30,000 in a state-of-the-art new shopping portal – www.356Curtains.com – and being online, customers are able to order from the site 365 days of the year!

With over 10,000 curtain options available at www.365curtains.com, the website has already had over 5,000 hits in just under two weeks, with orders coming from as far as Norway, Italy and Australia.

Online services include ‘Made to Measure’ curtains – with a huge variety of options available – and thousands of readymade curtains to suit every style of home, and in every colour. Ashley Wilde, Belfield, Prestigious, Whiteheads and Swatch box are just some of the most popular fabric brands available.

Explaining why The Spinning Wheel has made this sizeable investment in its online offering, Director of 365Curtains.com, Rory Curran explains: “The Spinning Wheel has had a High Street presence for almost 40 years, and in that time, we’ve fitted curtains for thousands of clients across Ireland.

“We were one of the first businesses in NI to have an online offering, which was launched 12 years ago. Due to the incredible demand from overseas and advances in technology, we wanted to create a more sophisticated online platform that would offer online customers all of the services that we are able to deliver for our clients who visit The Spinning Wheel.”

Established in 1975 by entrepreneur Harold Curran, The Spinning Wheel, has been at the forefront of fabrics, curtains and dressmaking in Northern Ireland. Beginning with a staff of just two, The Spinning Wheel now employs over 30 staff and occupies 5,000 sq. ft of prime city central retail space.

Commenting on the new developments, Founder of The Spinning Wheel, Harold Curran adds: “Since we opened our doors, The Spinning Wheel established a reputation for delivering excellent customer care, coupled with competitively priced fabrics and curtains.

“As the market changed significantly over the past 40 years, we’ve had to continually ‘reinvent the wheel’ to remain current. Investing in online 12 years ago has proved fortuitous, resulting in our biggest-ever order from Amarillo, Texas, and we felt that the time is right to take our online offering to the next level.

“This latest investment is extremely important to the future of the business, in terms of the potential for exports and growing our customer base even further.”

In addition to over 10,000 curtains, 365curtains.com also stocks fabrics, curtain accessories including rails and poles, and a variety of bedding.
