Fold Housing Association invests in North West with new office opening
Fold Housing Association has demonstrated its commitment to the North West of Northern Ireland by purchasing and opening a new office close to the centre of Derry-Londonderry.
The Housing Association has experienced major growth in the area during the last ten years, with staff levels increasing from three to sixteen, and stock levels reaching new highs. The acquisition and work completed on the office to date is part of a long term strategy which will benefit the North West.
The office, which will be responsible for the design and build schemes, housing management and maintenance in the area, has now opened on Racecourse Road. The building has undergone extensive interior and exterior renovations.
Commenting on the opening of the office, Bridie Doherty, North West area manager for Fold Housing Association, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the opening of our new office in the centre of the city. We feel that this move demonstrates a long term investment in the area and provides us with an enhanced presence at the heart of the local community. Our team is now within a close catchment area of our large general family housing schemes at Skeoge Road and Rossnagalliagh.
“We have plans to build on the services already available to our tenants as we move forwards in this office. Our Floating Support Service for Older People is an award winning initiative delivering a valuable service directly to our clients in their own homes with the added security of a 24 hour Fold Telecare community alarm and response service. As a direct result of the success of this service it is due to expand into Causeway and Mid Ulster in the coming months.
“Fold has been welcomed into the local area by neighbouring shop owners who are pleased to see the regeneration of a building which has been vacant for a number of years. We look forward to working alongside the community in the coming weeks and months.”
Additional new build schemes are planned for Derry-Londonderry, Coleraine, Cookstown, Cullybackey and Portstewart.
