100 new jobs for CVS Caremark
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster has announced that CVS Caremark Corporation is creating 100 new jobs at its IT development centre in Belfast.
CVS Caremark’s Northern Ireland Development Centre, which opened in 2012, creates software solutions for all parts of the US company, with particular focus on internet and mobile applications.
Announcing the investment, Arlene Foster said: “This expansion solidifies CVS Caremark Northern Ireland as an integral part of CVS Caremark’s global IT services. The Belfast centre has an excellent track record, having quickly established credibility and influence within the wider corporation.
“CVS Caremark decided to create the additional jobs in Belfast because the local management team has been successful in attracting and retaining highly skilled software engineers and QA testers. They have also been impressed by the loyalty of employees and the strong work ethic, as this has contributed to their success, and provided a strong foundation to build on.
“This investment further underlines Northern Ireland’s attractiveness to global companies, which has been demonstrated by a number of significant inward investments in recent months.”
Invest Northern Ireland has offered £725,000 of assistance for the jobs, which will pay significantly above the private sector average and contribute around £3.3million a year in salaries to the economy.
