Victoria Square Set For Lights, Camera, Math ‘a’ Magic

Northern Ireland’s leading children’s theatre company Cahoots NI and Danske Bank are teaming up to bring four special performances of their award winning ‘Lights, Camera, Math-a-Magic’ show to Victoria Square Shopping Centre in Belfast.
The free performances will take place on Sunday 12th October to celebrate all-Ireland Maths Week and are aimed at families with children of primary school age. The show combines the mystery of magic with the teaching of maths as part of a fun and exhilarating educational experience. Audiences can expect extraordinary feats of mathematical mind reading and illusion accompanied by a visually engaging multi-media show.
Maths Week Ireland promotes awareness, appreciation and understanding of maths through a huge variety of events and activities across the island. Victoria Vettesse, Creative Engagement Manager at Cahoots NI, said:
“We are thrilled to mark Maths Week Ireland with these one-off performances of our popular ‘Lights, Camera, Math ‘a’ Magic’ show. Over the last six years we have brought the show to nearly 400 primary schools throughout Northern Ireland in partnership with Danske Bank. We are so excited to be bringing our specially created 15 minute bite sized versions of the show to shoppers in Victoria Square.”
Tony Wilcox, Managing Director of Personal Banking at Danske Bank, added: “Our partnership with Cahoots NI brings maths to life in a fun environment beyond the classroom. The ‘Lights, Camera, Math ‘a’ Magic’ programme is in place to help improve financial literacy levels amongst local young children. For Maths Week we are delighted to be able to work with Cahoots to now offer a wider audience the opportunity to enjoy the show throughout the day at Victoria Square.”
