Londonderry-based Wurkhouse has been assisted by Invest Northern Ireland to invest £204,500 to develop its digital marketing services for export in a project that will also provide three new jobs.

Wurkhouse has received assistance from Invest NI of £25,000 to help in developing its services which help businesses and brands to develop, leverage and amplify their social marketing, branding and engagement by designing and implementing integrated social and online marketing strategies. The company is based in the Science Park.

Des Gartland, Invest NI’s North West Regional Office Manager said: “Wurkhouse is a recently established technology business operating in the very dynamic area of social media and specialising in marketing and branding services for other companies.

“It has developed significant business since its launch in April and now requires additional staff with experience in and knowledge of sophisticated digital technologies to enable it to exploit opportunities that it has identified, particularly in the Republic of Ireland.

“Our support will enable the company to recruit the staff it requires and to achieve its objective of growing exports to 30 per cent of turnover over the next three years,” he added.

Troy Armour, Wurkhouse Managing Director said: “My objective in setting up Wurkhouse is to offer digital marketing solutions tailored to the specific needs of individual customers. The portfolio of expert services that we offer is flexible, highly professional and competitive. We offer a comprehensive range of social media technologies including digital marketing and brand development.

“We’ve already won significant contracts, initially in the North West and other parts of Northern Ireland, from a broad cross-section of businesses. These have encouraged us to expand our operations and to explore opportunities that we’ve spotted in the Republic of Ireland.

“My research in the Republic indicates that we offer the expertise, flexibility and strong customer focus to develop a firm foothold in this important and fast growing marketplace.

“Invest NI’s assistance for the development of the business, especially in terms of marketing, is immensely important and has encouraged us to bring forward our growth plans faster than would have been possible had the financial support not been readily available.”
