Morrow Communications on UK CIPR 2014 shortlist

Morrow Communications, one of Ireland’s leading integrated communications consultancies, has been shortlisted for a UK-wide 2014 Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Excellence Award, the public relations profession’s most prestigious annual awards scheme for the whole of the UK.

Old but new – the lumper potato revival
Morrows is on the shortlist for the Low Budget category for their submission – ‘From Famine to Feast – the Resurrection of the Irish ‘Lumper’ Potato’ – and makes the cut from approximately 700 awards entries received from around the globe.
The entry, which focuses on a media relations campaign conducted by Morrow Communications on behalf of client Glens of Antrim Potatoes, follows the story of the reintroduction of the ‘Lumper’ to the market – a famous potato which had not been commercially cultivated since the Irish Famine of the 1840s.
Members of the Holywood-based communications team, Harriet Turtle and Seona McGrath, have since been put through their paces taking part in a face-to-face interview with a team of expert judges in London this week, before the winners are finally chosen and announced at the CIPR Excellence Awards black tie dinner at Old Billingsgate, London on Tuesday 17th June 2014.
Commenting, CIPR Excellence Awards Chairs of Judges Lionel Zetter FCIPR and Helen Dickinson MCIPR, said: “Making the CIPR Excellence Awards shortlist marks you out as being amongst the most professional, most creative, and most outstanding in the business. Congratulations for making it this far and best of luck for the final stage.”
The success comes swiftly on the back of Morrows podium sweep for the Glens of Antrim Potatoes campaign during last year’s awards calendar – claiming two gold accolades at the CIPR PRide Awards and a gold award at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Ireland Excellence Awards.
Peter Morrow, Managing Director at Morrow Communications, said, “We’re delighted that our campaign has been shortlisted for a 2014 CIPR Excellence Award. We take great pride in the quality of the work we provide to our clients and gaining recognition at events such as this is testament to that. These projects are delivered in close partnership with our clients and require significant teamwork to achieve such high standards – fingers crossed for the final result on the 17th June!”
