Newry-headquartered fit-out firm mac-interiors has secured new business wins in Great Britain and Ireland worth over €27m (£19.9m).

The specialist firm is a leading Main Contractor in the refurbishment and fit-out of office space and commercial buildings. Established in 2002, it currently has offices in Newry, Dublin, London and Hamburg and employs a direct workforce of 60.

Paul McKenna, Managing Director of mac-interiors, said: “Over the past six months we have won several major contracts across Great Britain and Ireland. These major contract wins are testament to the high quality of work we have carried out for clients over the past 13 years. The company has exceeded its 2015 targets and is set to turn over €75m this year.

“We have secured a twelve month contract with KPMG which will see us completely refurbish 120,000 sq ft of office space in multiple phases in their Dublin headquarters. We have also secured contracts with Hibernia REIT to refurbish Commerzbank House in Dublin and were awarded a second contract for St Modwens plc in Swansea University.

“The company has also entered a significant three year framework agreement with a global US investment company and have commenced work in their Dublin headquarters.”

Mr McKenna continued: “I believe one of the key drivers to our recent success is that we offer a specialist interior fit out construction management solution. Our service offering is uniquely different to our competitors, with the focus being on the people in the building – the other tenants, the neighbours, and the people who will occupy the space when the work is complete. As a result of our steady growth and the specialist nature of our offering, particularly in the growing pharma, tech and financial sectors, we are looking to add to our workforce.

“We’re starting to see some substantial contracts now taking place in Belfast as the lack of Grade A office space means companies choose to refurbish existing offices and fit out new space. We completed the fit out of Diageo’s new Belfast office in April this year and look forward to working on more projects in Northern Ireland.”

mac-interiors has previously completed several high profile jobs in Northern Ireland, including the fit out of Citi’s landmark headquarters in Titanic Quarter. It counts a number of large blue chip companies among its clients in Belfast, including the likes of BT, Grant Thornton and Diageo.

The company plans to strategically manage its growth over the medium term, with focus on the tech, pharma and commercial redevelopment sectors.
