The third Young Leaders NI Conference was a sell-out event hosting more than 220 delegates at Riddel Hall, Belfast.

The conference, entitled ‘Leadership & Diversity’ gave young professionals the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and network with some of Northern Ireland’s top business leaders. A host of speakers addressed Northern Ireland’s young leaders including Dr Leah Totton, Simon Weston OBE, Leon McCarron, Brian Kennedy, Mary McCall, Seamus McAleavey, Clare Kennedy and Lyn Harris.

The conference culminated with the presentation of the 2014 Herbert Smith Freehills Young Leader of the Year award to Neil Logan from Wilson Nesbitt Solicitors.

Dr Leah Totton, winner of BBC’s ‘The Apprentice’, judged the award and selected Neil from a shortlist of five (Jonathan Gallagher, Philip Bain, Caitriona Morgan and Ross Boyd) due to him demonstrating exceptional leadership through his business activities developing a criminal practice within Wilson Nesbitt as well as his dedication to pro bono work.

Young Leaders NI is an organisation formed by the Institute of Directors’ Young Directors Forum, JCI Belfast, the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors’ Association, and the Chartered Accountants Ireland Ulster Society Young Professionals Group.
